WHO ARE WE?
The TAV Times is a student-produced news publication based in TAV College, Montreal, Quebec. The news-magazine is run by the TAV College Journalism Club: An extracurricular college program.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of the club is to provide students, who are interested in pursuing a career in journalism, media, communications and/or writing, the opportunity to gain professional industry experience by working as a team to organize and produce a real publication.
AUDIENCE AND PURPOSE
The news-magazine is available in both print and digital formats upon its issue release, which occurs twice per semester, four times per year. The publication mainly caters to the students and staff of TAV College as well as the surrounding Montreal borough of Côte-Des-Neiges-NDG.
QUICK OVERVIEW FOR STUDENTS
- All registered TAV College students are welcome to join the club as well as write in either the English or the French language
- New members are trained on how to write, investigate for, source and structure a news article as well as trained on how to conduct a professional interview
- Work with a team to brainstorm and structure thematic issues that are produced twice per semester, four times per year
